We looked at other land in Christchurch but felt that at the end of the day that the Izone proposition was the most attractive

Westland Milk Products is planning a new warehouse and distribution facility at Izone. This will be used initially to store milk products. After all, it makes sense as Izone is located on the Midland rail line, which regularly carries Westland’s products across from Hokitika. The lot they bought was a sizeable 7Ha, quite a paddock indeed.
“We wanted a piece of land that would meet our present and future needs first and foremost,” says Westland Milk Products Deputy CEO, Hugh Little. “We looked at other land in Christchurch but felt that at the end of the day that the Izone proposition was the most attractive.”
The key to Westland Milk Product’s venture is additional storage space to meet its growing milk-flow requirements. Izone’s ability to provide a site to the precise dimensions that Westland Milk Products called for was a major factor in their decision-making process. Meaning we were able to give Westland Milk Products the right place, right size and right price.
