PGG Wrightson Seeds is the latest business to announce it is shifting to Izone, centralising its seed treatment, mixing and distribution operations currently located in the wider Canterbury region.
"We've been fortunate in this economic climate to be offered a full solutions package by Izone," says PGG Wrightson Seeds NZ seeds manager David Green. "Our new facility will be state of the art and will enable us to service our wide range of wholesale customers to a higher level."
PGG Wrightson Seeds will take possession of its new $12 million premises in mid 2010 and joins other key tenants and landowners at Izone that include The Warehouse, CRT, Westland Milk and Designline.
Izone development manager Robin Hughes says recent sales enquiry has been dominated by businesses with agricultural connections.
"New Zealand is well positioned internationally as a producer of high quality food and that's where a lot of new investment is being targeted. No other sector has been able to match agriculture's productivity gains and there's huge scope to build on that further. Seed production is an excellent example of the high value crops New Zealand produces which are exported throughout the world."
PGG Wrightson Seeds is one of the largest seed businesses in the Southern Hemisphere. It has offices in Australia and South America, and supplies trading partners internationally.
