In what is thought to be a New Zealand first, Izone and recruitment company Talent Now has created a website specific to the needs of businesses within an industrial park.
More than 400 people are currently employed by a range of companies located in Izone, making the industrial hub the second largest employer in the Sewlyn District. Positions range from management, manufacturing, storage, security, administration through to cleaners, gardeners and many more.
Talent Now director of marketing and technology Inge Chappell says while her recruitment firm will moderate the website – istaff.co.nz – job ads will be run by the companies which advertise.
“We’ll be there to provide back-up assistance but essentially we’re providing a stand-alone recuitment website,” says Chappell.
Izone development manager Robin Hughes says the idea behind the creating an Izone specific recruitment website was to provide Izone companies with an edge over competitors.
“We’re not in the recruitment business but we can provide Izone businesses with the tools to help meet their recruitment requirements.”
Hughes says istaff.co.nz will also act as a portal for people seeking information about living in Selwyn.
Meanwhile Selwyn District Council is currently considering taking istaff district wide.
