The opening of Stevens Seeds' new storage and mixing facility this month has further cemented Izone's reputation as the region's agribusiness hub. The Mid Canterbury business is the fourth seed company to set up home in Izone joining PGG Wrightson, CRT and Agriseeds.
Owner Peter Stevens says he made the decision last year to move his company from Ashburton to Izone. "It's going to cut down on my commuting time as I live in West Melton and it will allow us to increase our production and increase our small workforce."
Stevens Seeds purchases seeds from farmers in Mid and Central Canterbury and after processing they are sold throughout New Zealand and exported.
