Companies looking for properties in Canterbury have to justify their purchase against tight economic criteria. Find out why more than 60 businesses have already established at Izone, with many more poised to design and build.

Drummond and Etheridge

The Drummond & Etheridge (D&E) name is synonymous with the John Deere brand and the delivery of quality agricultural machinery sales, parts and service. The company is the North Canterbury and Mid Canterbury franchisee for John Deere and has repeatedly been awarded Australasian John Deere Managers’ Club Awards for its sales, service and marketing strategies.

The company’s $7m John Deere showroom in Ashburton reflects the team’s pride in, and commitment to, the John Deere brand.  Work will soon be underway to upgrade the company’s  Canterbury facilities by building a replica of the Ashburton showroom/workshop at D&E’s site near the Izone entrance – corner Jones and Hoskyns Rd.

With the growth of the agricultural industry within the region, D&E began to ‘outgrow’ their site in Templeton.  When looking for a future site they were looking for good access to Christchurch and surrounding rural areas, good visibility, value and an area large enough for the showroom, workshop and yard to display machinery.

“The Izone site really did meet all of our key requirements” says Mark Etheridge, Managing Director. “The land offered good visibility form the State Highway, and is a prime location being the first stop on the boundary of Christchurch”

Work is scheduled to start shortly on the new site and D&E will be ‘moved in’ by mid- 2013.
